At Lucas, we are committed to continual improvement and driving efficiency, most recently in our in-house logistics operations.

As part of our ongoing efforts to optimise performance, we have consolidated our operations from two buildings into one all-encompassing facility. This strategic move has also allowed us to more than halve our fleet, resulting in significant cost savings and increased operational efficiency.

Achieving these improvements required substantial streamlining of our processes. We have implemented new policies and workflows, alongside the development of a bespoke digital system. This in-house solution is designed to book and manage movements, as well as handle all waste transfers, ensuring more accurate forecasting and planning.

Our new digital system is a cornerstone of our robotic process automation strategy, which has already proven transformative in other areas of our business. By integrating this system into our logistics operations, we have not only enhanced commercial efficiency but also reduced wastage, contributing significantly towards our net zero carbon strategy.
