Lucas upgraded to silver FORS accreditation
The accreditation to the Freight Operators Registration Scheme (FORS) first gained by Lucas last year has been upgraded by the organisation to its silver level following the latest audit of our vehicle fleet systems and initiatives.
The scheme is designed to ensure operators of large vehicles are running and operating their fleets to the highest levels of safety and efficiency required under the law and adopting best safety practices. The scheme also insists on additional measures to improve road safety in London such as installing special sensors on large vehicles to warn drivers of cyclists on the road.
The FORS road safety initiative is promoted by Transport for London and is being increasingly adopted by our major industry clients.
At Lucas we monitor a range variables in connection with our fleet of vehicles including fuel emissions and upload this information to our online systems. We also undertake driver training to ensure our fleet practices are safer, greener and more efficient. As a result the latest FORS assessment judged that we met their silver level requirements.
FORS is a funded certification scheme aimed at ensuring fleet operators work lawfully and to best practice. Lucas sets the utmost importance on health and safety considerations at work and is delighted that the FORS audited scheme demonstrates we operate to standards well above the legal minimum.
