Teams from Lucas have completed a series of major packages for the new 62-storey building Twentytwo, located at 22 Bishopsgate in the heart of the City of London.

To begin with we undertook a series of enabling works for the construction programme to start including temporary accommodations, canteen facilities, changing rooms and lockers and welfare facilities. We also completed a back of house package applying long-lasting protective coatings to walkways, blockwork walls and plant rooms.

We quite separately carried out an extremely challenging and unusual waterproofing programme in the basement levels, creating special multi-coloured resin coatings and applying them in imaginative overlays and block patterns. The coatings our team developed had to be attractive but also perform resiliently.

We painted the shell and core superstructure of TwentyTwo, applying general finishes to the common areas, lift lobbies and office floor plates throughout the building.

A specialist Lucas fit out team then completed a superb marketing suite on Level 5 designed to cater for group visits to the site with kitchen and changing facilities, meeting rooms and screening spaces for audio visual presentations and 3D models of the new building and its facilities. This project was completed in a fast-track 10 week programme.

We also stepped up to complete a series of finishing packages including the full blacking-out and decorations to a high level viewing gallery for the building and applied special fire rated coatings to external columns high up on the Level 61 terrace.

All our main packages were completed on time and when asked to take on additional tasks we of course went the extra mile for our client to arrive at a successful completion.
