S. Lucas declared official partner of McLaren Technology Centre

The S. Lucas Group has been declared an official partner of the McLaren Technology Centre following a series of painting and fit out packages completed by our companies at McLaren Group’s new sports car production facility at Woking in Surrey. The facility was officially opened today by Prime Minister, David Cameron.

S. Lucas has won the general decorations package for phase 1 of the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst, the UK’s first open innovation bioscience campus. The first phase includes a new 4,750 sq. metre Incubator building and a 4,100 sq. metre Accelerator building to house start-up and small biosciences companies.

A painting team from S. Lucas is working on the comprehensive conservation project of the Cutty Sark, the famous 140-year old clipper ship at Greenwich. The Cutty Sark was the fastest ship of her day, her sleek lines formed of a wrought iron frame clad with teak and rock elm strakes and fastened with special alloy metal bolts. The Cutty Sark Conservation Project began in 2006 and despite a setback when a serious fire broke out in 2007, she is due to re-open in a spectacular new exhibition setting at Greenwich next year.
