Lucas to launch ground-breaking on-line magazine show
Lucas is launching a fortnightly magazine style show on-line covering a wide range of topics from construction and business generally. This is thought to be a first for the industry.
The Lucas Show will be produced and directed by the highly experienced television producer Daniel Markham who is currently the series producer of BBC’s The One Show and who has 20 years’ experience working on television shows for the BBC and independent production companies. He joins Lucas as creative director in April.
The 20 minute show will include guest interviews with leading professionals from construction and beyond covering a wide range of topics such as construction innovation, technology, women in construction, apprenticeships, training, health and wellbeing, and diversity.
As well as the fortnightly show broadcast “as live” from Lucas’s own studios, there will also be a weekly news update show and radio podcasts featuring more in-depth interviews.
Lucas has a following of 20,000 across social media and the intention is to build a much bigger audience for The Lucas Show from industry followers and young people with a potential interest in construction, as well as business enthusiasts and entrepreneurs from outside the industry. Broadcasts are due to start in April.
Danny Lucas, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Lucas, said: “I believe that a professionally-produced magazine show using YouTube as the main platform, but then breaking out stories and interviews from the show across social media, is the future way to inform and inspire a wider audience about modern construction and the achievements and opportunities available in the industry.
I intend The Lucas Show to be both an effective way to start a conversation and a learning experience for businesses in and around construction, and I am delighted that such an experienced television producer is joining Lucas to help us achieve our goals.”
