Lucas links with US 3D printing specialist

Lucas has formed a collaboration with Stratasys, a global 3D printing specialist, giving us a rapid prototyping ability to produce bespoke components, solve on-site construction problems and prevent project delays.
We have built a 3D printing laboratory at Lucas HQ fitted with the latest Stratasys printing module allowing us to create detailed, complex and precise construction components in versatile materials on demand. The materials formulations give the components extreme strength or flexibility, and with Lucas’s technical capabilities, we can provide a full range of factory finishes to the components – plastic, wood, leather, metal, high gloss.
Stratasys is based in the US and has been pioneering 3D printing technologies for over 30 years. The company’s printers and consulting services are used by a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical and consumer products. Like Lucas, Stratasys is a technical partner with McLaren F1.
“This collaboration enables the construction industry to benefit from additive manufacturing on-site. Lucas is using Stratasys’ industrial additive manufacturing technology for on-site jigs and fixtures as well as creating substrate for complex geometries. All of which enables Lucas to create unique shapes and tailor its service to each customer”
