Return to Bluewater

A painting team from S. Lucas has returned to Bluewater the leading retail, leisure and events destination in Kent as part of a project to completely refurbish the Wintergarden family dining village.

The 12 week redecorations programme includes the re- application of the Muralplast faux stone finish we originally developed for Bluewater and its American architect, Eric Coombe, when it was built in 1999. We apply this modern bespoke water-based finish in a traditional way with sponges and badger brushes to all the communal area internal walls at the centre.

The process gives Bluewater the unique look and feel first envisioned by the architect and made a reality by the original S. Lucas decorations team. The striking architecture and innovative design set Bluewater apart from other retail destinations and have contributed to its success, where currently 28 million people visit Bluewater each year.

The refurbished Wintergarden is due to re-open in October this year.
