Lucas scoops central London super fit out project

Lucas has been appointed the principal contractor for a super fit out project in central London. This means the Lucas fit out team will once again take full responsibility for the management and delivery of an important London fit out and finishing development.
The new project is at Princes House, Kingsway in central London between Holborn and the Strand. The grand 1920s neo-classical building is currently occupied on levels 5-7 with existing apartments.
The team is now undertaking a soft strip out of the basement and remaining floors and reconfiguring the spaces to create 54 high end serviced apartments consisting of studio and one bedroom accommodation, along with a beautifully constructed reception and concierge area.
Lucas is undertaking a full evaluation of the condition of existing plant, has appointed architects and is now finalising the design and build plans with the client, Eastern & Oriental Berhad, the Malaysian property development group.
We will undertake all the mechanical and electrical installations, install underfloor heating, new kitchens and bathrooms and carry out a full decorations and finishing package.
The project is logistically challenging with Princes House located on a central London red route which has comprehensive access restrictions. We have also appointed a tenant liaison manager and we are taking special measures to keep existing tenants fully informed of progress and minimising dust and noise.
We will be working to a demanding schedule and will complete the project in July.
