“Performance Beyond Compliance” award for the Lucas team at London super fit out project

Lucas is delighted to have been awarded a “Performance Beyond Compliance” rating for its team at Princes House Kingsway in Central London where we are the principal contractor undertaking a super fit out project.
The award under the Considerate Constructors Scheme follows a detailed inspection of all aspects of our work at the site. It covers our care about the appearance of the site, our respect for the local community, the environmental protection measures we have put in place, our site safety and the value we show to our workforce there.
Our team scored 7 or 8 out of 9 on all five areas to secure the accolade.
Princes House between Holborn and the Strand is a grand 1920s neo-classical building and occupied on levels 5-7 with existing apartments. We completed a soft strip out of the basement and the remaining floors, and reconfigured the spaces to create 54 high end serviced apartments consisting of studio and one bedroom accommodation, along with a beautifully constructed reception and concierge area.
Lucas carried out a full evaluation of the condition of existing plant, appointed architects and finalised design and build plans with the client, Eastern & Oriental Berhad, the Malaysian property development group.
We are undertaking all the mechanical and electrical installations, installing underfloor heating, new kitchens and bathrooms and completing a full decorations and finishing package, all while the building has remained partially occupied.
Danny Lucas said: “This has been an exceptional performance by the site management team and our operatives at Princes House. They are doing a great job and thoroughly deserve the award.”
