Lucas Scoops Main Decorations Package at 1 Crown Place
Lucas has won the main painting package at 1 Crown Place, a complex new build and restoration project underway on the northern edge of the City of London.
This is a mixed use development with two residential towers of 29 and 33 storeys, a new six storey podium building, and the refurbishment of older buildings including a wonderful terrace of Georgian houses.
We will be applying special durable resin coatings to basement and back of house areas before moving on to a full decorations programme for the 247 residential apartments in the two tall buildings. The new build will also provide office and retail spaces whilst a 30 room boutique hotel and members club will be built within the Georgian terrace.
Lucas had an early involvement in this project building a spectacular and highly original marketing suite in an existing office building on Wilson Street, which sits within the development. It is located in the middle of an open-style, rough warehouse space. Working closely with architects Kohn Pedersen Fox and interior designers Bowler James Brindley, we created an amazing full-size one bedroom apartment with no exterior walls or ceilings, sitting in the middle of the warehouse.
The developer of 1 Crown Place is AlloyMTD and the main contractor is Mace. We will be back on site in April and completion is expected at the end of 2020.
