Lucas wins important back-of-house packages at signature City development
Lucas has secured a number of important packages at Walbrook Square which promises to be one of the most significant and highest quality City of London developments for many years.
Our work for Sir Robert McAlpine includes the deployment of both painting and fit out teams. We are applying primers and protective coatings to floors, walls and ceilings throughout the four basement floors and to all plant rooms, and we will shortly decorate some 350 metal door sets.
Meanwhile, our fit out team is carrying out the complete installation of basement toilets, showers and changing rooms, having developed the original designs in to a fully workable scheme. Our schedule has included all the mechanical and electrical work as well as full installation. The quality of the fit out for this development is extremely high for back-of-house areas.
In addition we will install no less than 2½ miles of a crash rail wall protective system throughout the basement floors.
The Walbrook Square development close by Canon Street station consists of two high-grade specification office buildings as well as retail units on the ground floor and a new entrance to Bank underground station. There will be a public thoroughfare between the north and south buildings and a permanent, public exhibition of the Temple of Mithras first uncovered on the site in the 1950s. The main building is due for completion in Spring 2017.
