Lucas shortlisted again for Construction News’ prestigious Specialists Awards
Lucas has once again been shortlisted for the most important awards schemes for specialists in the UK building and construction industry. This is the fourth year running that we have been shortlisted, which is recognition for the consistently high level of service we provide to our clients.
Lucas won the Finishing and Fit Out category of the Specialists Awards organised by Construction News on the first time of entering in 2010 and we again won the top prize last year. The awards are organised by Construction News to reward specialists in construction. The final results of the 2013 awards scheme will be announced on 26th March at a gala dinner to be held at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane in Central London.
Construction News told us that the awards have seen a huge rise in the number and quality of entries submitted this time, so making it onto the short list is they say “a fantastic achievement.”
As well as being judged on our industry performance, training programmes, health and safety record and for our corporate planning and ambitions for the future, this year we have been asked to make a direct presentation to the judges.
We will be featuring our work on the Emirates Air Line, the UK’s first urban cable car system, where we were contracted to fit out the stations at either end of the line crossing high above the River Thames. However, as the project progressed our worked expanded considerably and our commitment increased as we pulled out all the stops to help the team complete on time and well ahead of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Danny Lucas, Chairman and Managing Director of Lucas, said: “It’s really gratifying to be shortlisted once again for these awards. It gives our whole team a great boost to realise our work and development is appreciated by the leaders of our industry.”
