Lucas returns to Emirates Air Line Cable Car

Lucas returned to the Emirates Air Line Cable Car in East London, building and fitting out an extension to the control room at the south side of the river crossing on the Greenwich Peninsula.

The extension to the two-storey stainless steel building is in exactly the same style as the original, using fire-rated aluminium faced cladding. The extra facility forms a new security control office and a stations operation office. As well as constructing the extension, our team completed a full internal fit out including all the mechanical and electrical services for the power, lighting, heating and cooling systems as well as applying the floor, ceiling and wall finishes.

Lucas was deeply involved in the original construction of the crossing, undertaking the complete fit out of both terminals, building both terminal control rooms and carrying out a series of further bespoke works including coating the structural and architectural metalwork for the cable car system.

We worked with Mace Macro on this project and the client is Transport for London.
