Lucas Fit Out goes shopping at M&S

Lucas Fit Out has embarked on what could be a long shopping trip to Marks & Spencer. Or more specifically, we have started what we hope will be a substantial programme of upgrades and refurbishments at M&S stores around the country for the contractor, EllmerTry JV.

Our responsibilities for the in-store works include drylining new partitions, erecting new suspended ceilings, creating the spaces for window displays and complete decorating programmes as the stores are given a facelift.

The stores remain open during the programme of works so we must dovetail into the contractor’s carefully prepared programme. This means all our operatives are fully briefed with a logistical plan for materials delivery to site, move through prepared stages of work at each store and undertake work throughout the night where necessary.

We have so far completed upgrades at stores in Covent Garden in Central London and at Hastings on the south coast and we are about to start on the next store at Holloway Road in north London.
