Lucas initiatives contribute to top scores for sustainability

An initiative to re-use building materials by the Lucas team working on a project for Mace has been praised for being both commercially beneficial and an environmentally sound practice.

The initiative has helped the Believe in Better Building for the Sky Academy in West London achieve top marks from Mace for the best sustainability practices used by the whole project team.

Richard Wilson, Lucas’s Senior Project Manager, said: “This is a good example of Lucas designing a perfect solution that has clear environmental benefits. We’ve sourced and re-used raised metal floor tiles that will be tiled over when the toilet fit out is completed, so to give them a second useful life is very good practice. Re-use is a step further than recycle.”

Lucas teams are involved in additional Mace projects, that are all top rated for reaching the highest possible sustainability standards and constantly strive to improve our standards.
