Lucas achieves ISO 45001, the global standard for occupational health and safety

Lucas’s commitment to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety for our operatives has been recognised with the award of ISO 45001, the global standard for the physical and mental well-being of the workforce.

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is the Geneva-based independent, non-government organisation that sets global standards in the fields of management systems, environmental best practice and now occupational health and safety standards.

Lucas was one of the first companies of its kind to achieve ISO 9001 after establishing our comprehensive, advanced management systems to run our operations, and ISO 14001 for our adherence to the best possible environmental practices.

Now our passion for making sure all of our workforce both onsite and off have our full support when it comes to staying safe and healthy has been recognised with the award of this latest international standard. It demonstrates that we seek to continually improve morale, safety and performance and that we take full responsibility for our operatives’ well-being.

Our obsession with safety is also reflected in the fact that we have now passed 3½ million working hours over 6½ years without a reportable accident or RIDDOR incident.

Danny Lucas said: “We have always placed the greatest possible importance on the health, safety and mental well-being of our operatives who work on construction sites across London and the South East. Full credit to our health and safety teams who look after us every day.”
