Lucas beats to the rhythm of Cadence at King’s Cross

Fit-out and finishing contractor, Lucas has scooped a major decorations contract for Cadence, a striking new development on the King’s Cross Estate in London.

The residential development, which has been designed by Alison Brooks Architects with interiors by Conran and Partners, will be six-sided and built around a central courtyard framed by irregular arches to form a contemporary colonnade. The buildings will rise to different heights from four to 15 storeys.

A total of 163 studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments will be created along with various amenities and facilities and commercial premises on the ground floor.

Lucas will decorate throughout the apartments, entrance lobbies, communal and core areas and staircases, as well as applying specialist coatings to back of house areas, plant rooms, a car park and cycle store.

The development for King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership, formerly known as Plot S5, is close to Coal Drops Yard and Granary Square. The main contractor is Laing O’Rourke and the decorations programme is expected to be complete by the end of 2022.
