Lucas scores a further contract at Southbank Place

Lucas has secured another major decorating package at Southbank Place, the huge £1bn mixed use development underway in Central London between Waterloo Station and the River Thames.
Our latest project is to paint all the floors, walls, ceilings and woodwork in Building 1, a 12 storey commercial tower comprising mainly high quality office space, including open trading floors, along with lobbies and retail units at ground level.
At the centre of Southbank Place is the redevelopment of the listed former Shell Centre and Building 1 will eventually be connected to it via two link bridges. In addition the pedestrian and vehicle ramp to the development-wide basement parking will be accessed via this building.
Lucas teams are already deployed at Southbank Place, applying specialist coatings to infrastructure and the three level underground parking facilities, as well as undertaking the complete decorating and painting packages at Belvedere Gardens, two linked residential towers on the development. We are also working on an associated social housing project at Lollard Street in the Borough of Lambeth.
Southbank Place is a development by Braeburn Estates, a joint venture between Qatari Diar Real Estate and the Canary Wharf Group and in total consists of six residential towers and two commercial buildings as well as public realm space and leisure facilities.
